MediaMonkey see, MediaMonkey do
The process for fixing metadata with MediaMonkey is quite similar to that of fixing album art, so if you followed last week’s tutorial, you’re already ahead of the game. Here’s the step-by-step:
- In the folder-tree section on the left side, scroll down to My Computer (or My Documents), then locate the folder containing your music files.
- Click that folder, and then click All. Your music files will appear in the main window. Click the Album column to sort your songs by album.
- Select all the songs in an album. There are two ways to do this. First, you can click the first song, hold down the Shift key, and then click the last song. Second, you can click and drag a box around all the songs, much like you would in Windows Explorer.
- Press Ctrl-L to launch MediaMonkey’s Auto-Tag from Amazon feature (click the image to see a full-size example). In a moment, you should see a page of album info: cover art, song list, etc. If it didn’t fetch the right info (which happens sometimes, especially if the ID3 tags are way out of whack), clear the search field and try entering the album name
